I can't believe the time if flying by so quickly. Here we are already 4 weeks into our '14-'15 adventure. What awesome things have you been doing to boost student achievement. In my new role as a beginning teacher mentor this year, my impact isn't directly on student achievement but rather on teacher achievement which will then, hopefully, impact students. It has been such a joy to go into classrooms and both see/talk to students and work with teachers. This role is allowing me to see kids across the whole development spectrum and I've learned quickly that, no matter their size, students want to learn. Some certainly don't show it but they do want to learn. Some of the questions I've been getting have centered around classroom management and student engagement. What are some tips and tricks you can share with new teachers about how to keep kids actively engaged in the lesson? Have a great week and keep up the good work out there! Here's a little video inspiration from Soul Pancake.
